Make Careers Guidance a Right, Over One Thousand Petitioners Tell Assembly

A petition of of over 1,000 signatures will be tabled by Ms Laura Nuttal, Greens MLS for Brindabella, in the ACT Legislative Assembly on 5 May 2026. The petition draws attention to the fact that 3 of 5 ACT public high school students have no access to a career practitioner in schools. 2/3 of public high schools do not employ a qualified career practitioner. All young people deserve to have access to career learning that meets their needs, and is provided by people with career qualifications, passion and professional integrity. Career development should not be left to chance.
